To obtain the diploma in osteopathy (DO)
The DO is given by the SBO-BVO – UP.
Students who completed studies in one of the schools recognised by the SBO-BVO can receive the DO.
A theoretical and practical oral exam must first to be taken in front of a final examination committee. Students have to demonstrate their knowledge in physiopathology and semiology as well as their mastering of diverse techniques after making an osteopathic diagnosis. Students have 4 consecutive exam sessions spread over two years; the first session comes right after the end of the courses.
Students must then defend a thesis which will attest to their capacity in following a rigorous approach on a subject related to their studies in osteopathy. Students also have 4 sessions to present their dissertation but the sessions are spread over 3 years.
Students of other schools may also obtain the DO after passing an admission exam which grants them access to the jury examination of a school recognised by the SBO-BVO.
The content of this special jury examination includes all the matters of the osteopathic curriculum. Exemptions can be granted individually after analysis of the student’s academic record. |
