We remind you that to receive the recognition of professional status in osteopathy, the osteopath must answer at least four major requirements:
- be member of a Professional Union recognised by the Conseil d’Etat;
- be covered in Civil Liability specific to the osteopathic profession;
- hold a diploma from a school respecting the criteria given by the Professional Union;
- adhere to a Code of Ethics and respect a professional ethics.
The SBO-BVO – UP, concerned with the general interest of its professionals and with the protection of its patients, innovated in the field of insurance: it drew, with the insurance professional workers, a specific protection for the osteopathic profession, an exclusive product for its members.
The idea was to propose individual policies at the collective price. At first, we looked for a collective policy covering Professional Civil Liability, Exploitation and After Delivery Civil Liability, Legal Defence and a Therapeutic Contingency Cover. We wanted all the osteopaths to be fittingly covered in their professional activity.
To take out this policy is compulsory.

Professional Civil Liability, Exploitation and After Delivery Civil Liability, Legal Defence and Therapeutic Contingency Cover
This collective policy covers all the members of the SBO-BVO: students, trainees or DO’s. It stands to reason that for members who are still studying (in the schools recognised by the SBO-BVO) and for whom osteopathy is not yet a separate profession, their activity of physical therapy is also covered. |
